If you have AUD 2 500 000 available to invest in Australia, you may qualify for an SC 188 visa in the investor stream.
You have to:
- Be nominated by an Australian state or territory government agency to invest at least AUD 2,5 million
- The investment must be for the duration of the visa (up to 5 years)
- Comply with an investment matrix of:
- 20% in Venture Capital
- 30% in Emerging Business
- 50% (balancing investment) in managed funds
- Passed the points test with a minimum score of at least 65 points
- Have net personal, investment and business assets of at least AUD 2,5 million
With this SC 188 investor stream visa, you can:

- You can work, live and study in Australia for up to 5 years
- You can leave and re-enter Australia as many times whilst your visa is valid
Indicative Costs:
- Government visa application charges (VAC) – AUD 6085
- Registered Migration agent (RMA) charges – AUD 8850
- Other charges such as skills assessments, medical, police clearance, English test etc. are applicable and can vary. Also if applicable there could be second instalments of VAC in certain circumstances.
Eligibility:
- For at least 1 of the 5 tax years immediately before you receive an invite from an Australian state or territory to apply, you have directly managed a qualifying business or an eligible investment. The equity value of your and/or your spouse’s investments in the qualifying business and/or eligible investments must be at least AUD 2 500 000
- You and/or your spouse’s net personal assets of AUD 2,5 million must have been held for the 2 tax years immediately before you are invited to apply
- A direct investment in real estate does not count towards the required AUD 2,5 million investment. However, you are not precluded from utilising some of the AUD 2,5 million to invest in residential property through managed funds. Please contact our office should you like to know more.
- You must have at least 3 years’ experience managing one or more qualifying businesses or eligible investments. Also present a successful record of eligible investments and/or qualifying business activities
- You must have a genuine intent to live in a state or Territory in which you have made the investment application for at least 2 years
- You need to be younger than 55 years of age at the time of receiving your application to apply for the SC 188 visa (Exemptions Apply)

- Your funds must be available for transfer to Australia within 2 years after the grant of the visa
