If you have held an SC 457 or SC 482 for the last 3 years

With an SC 186 in the Temporary Residence Transition Stream you can:

• Remain in Australia indefinitely
• Work and study in Australia
• Qualify for Medicare
• Sponsor your relatives to come to Australia
• Travel to and from Australia for 5 years
• Ultimately become an Australian citizen
• Include family members when you apply

Indicative costs:

• Government visa application charges (VAC) – A$ 4115
• Registered Migration agent (RMA) charges - A$ 2000
• Other charges such as skills assessments, medical, police clearance, English test etc. are applicable and can vary. Also if applicable there could be second instalments of VAC in certain circumstances.

You must:

• Hold an SC 457 or SC 482 TSS or related bridging visa A, B or C
• Have worked for your employer at least 3 years full time whilst holding an SC 457 or SC 482 TSS visa (Exemptions Apply)
• Have been nominated by an Australian employer whose nomination was approved in the last 6 months before you apply for your SC 186

Eligibility:

• You must have the required skills and qualifications needed to perform the tasks of the nominated occupation. Although a skills assessment is not mandatory, you may be asked to do one in certain circumstance. Please contact our office if you need to know more
• Have the required work experience, even if your work sponsor had changed in the last 3 years. Please contact our office if you need to know more
• Must be nominated by your sponsor for your TSS SC 457 or SC 482 visa
• Your nominator must be eligible to nominate you for this visa. Please contact our office if you need to know if your nominator is eligible to nominate you
• You must be under 45 years of age when you apply for this visa (Exemptions Apply)
• You must meet the English Language requirements
• You must meet the health requirements
• You must meet the character requirements
